Day of Rest

I slept in this morning and it felt glorious! If I tried to do that any other day I would feel like I had been wasting away a perfectly good morning, but Sunday allows that sort of thing to happen. I am glad to report that this week I was feeling quite well this morning, so I was able to attend church! Our meetings start at 12:00 but we left at 11:00 to make our way over. Due to lots of construction that has been going on in the tube, we had to walk to a different station today. We usually go to the Gloucester Road station but the Piccadilly line will no longer be going to that station. It will be closed until December! Crazy stuff! The station we walk to instead is called South Kensington and it is about the same distance away anyways, so it's not too big of a hassle. The walk is pretty and the weather was quite lovely in a sunny sort of way today.
Church was good today, though I can't really say that I understood much due to everything being Portuguese. Sacrament takes place in this big hall of the school that the church has rented out on Sundays. It was surprisingly hot because the ceiling has big glass windows and the sun was glaring into the room. We actually found ourselves scooting down the row as the sun moved through the sky in attempt to keep out of the heat! I used the time to write in my little journal and get some reading done. I'd feel bad, but I wouldn't really understand the talks anyways... In Sunday school I had a brief discussion with a sister in the ward. She spoke some English and turned around and said to me, "Oh! Who are you?" She then points to Ben and Dallin, who she must have met last week, and said, "This is BYU One, and this is BYU Two. So you are BYU Three." She was really funny and quite friendly, and we talked for a little bit before we walked off to Priesthood.
After church we were all quite lazy. I journeyed back to the flats where I took a nap, wrote some essays, read a book on my Kindle and laid around. I was originally planning on taking a walk through the park, but laziness won out. We just fit so much into the week that I think my body was quite satisfied with sitting around for a bit. I was still quite productive as I wrote two essays and finished some reading for class. I also snuck in some laundry and printed off my airline tickets for tomorrow!
Tomorrow we will be having class in the morning and then we will be released to have our travel week! I am with a group of six of us that are going to fly to Rome! I can't believe that it is already time to head out! I'm a little nervous because my group really has not planned much. We have a general idea of things that we would like to do, but no set plans. We booked our flights a while ago, and we have a bed and breakfast that we will be staying at already reserved, but besides that it is open for exploration! There's a lot that I want to do though, so I'm not worried about keeping ourselves busy. It will be a great new experience! Here's to hoping I can get some sleep tonight to prepare me for tomorrow and the week of new adventures to follow!

Walked past this on the way to church. So cool

Got the urge to show off our little kitchen! Here it is!

Here are some photos I stole from Emily that she took yesterday

Emily says, "Look contemplative" I guess that's my contemplative face

Found a little nook while climbing The Monument

 We conquered The Monument

Not quite sure what I was thinking here (note The Monument in the back)
