I haven't been doing this blog thing for very long, and I am already falling behind! I feel so ashamed. Since the last time I have posted I have been to two more Prep Classes. Every time I go to class I get more and more excited for this summer!
In class the Second we spent a lot of time talking about literature and the evolution of the English language. Professor Christianson taught this time around, and we had a good time learning about the transitions to old English to what we have today. He showed us a funny video of a man telling the story of the Three Little Pigs, but with a more Shakespeare-like prose. It was hilarious. I may post the link if I manage to track down the video. I think some of you out there might enjoy it. Professor Jacoby also showed us a video about the Kings and Queens of England. It's also quite hilarious, and might actually be helpful if you want to memorize the monarchy.
Now to the fun stuff regarding our trip. We went over the rules of the London Center, and they showed us pictures as well! It looks so cool! It is quite a nice facility, and I cannot wait to stay there. (Even if the rooms seem pretty tiny, there is so much more to explore so I don't think I will be spending much time in there except to sleep). We also were given an outline of what our trip will look like. About 80% of it is planned right now.
Our first week we will be seeing the London Symphony Orchestra, Henry V at the Globe, Dover Castle, Canterbury Cathedral and the Tower of London! The next week we will see a performance of One Man, Two Governors and taking a trip to Wales over the weekend! We will visit Bath, Stonehenge and Cornwall Coast while there. The next week we will go to Oxford and Blennin Palace and have our free weekend from Thursday to Saturday to travel wherever we want. (As of now I am thinking of going to Ireland or Paris). Following week we will be going to Warrick Castle, Stratford Upon Avon, Tour Parliament, and see Richard III at the Globe. Following week we will go to Greenwich, The Mary Rose, Portsmith, and maybe even take a boat down the Thames. This is also the week that the Olympics start, so if we can find tickets we can go to events! From the 30th of Jul to the 5th of August we will be in Scotland, traveling to York, Fountains Abby, Derm Castle, and Edinburgh! After that we have a week left, which hasn't been planned just yet!
I am SO EXCITED!!!! This trip sounds better all the time.
